Money and Budgeting
The important thing to remember is to budget for your key costs – the things you might lose if you got into debt.
So, your priority is your housing costs; rent, and council tax. If you don’t pay your rent, you could lose your home and if you don’t pay your council tax, you might get taken to court and might have your possessions removed by the bailiffs.
If you don’t pay your rent, you could lose your home and if you don’t pay your council tax, you might get taken to court.
Next, come your utility bills, so you have heat, light and hot water.
We aren’t experts on budgeting, although we can help. We know it can be tough and if you are in danger of missing a rent payment, you must talk to us as soon as possible. We know people sometimes get into trouble and it’s hard to talk about it. But there are some great organisations that are very good at money advice and we’ve listed some of them below.
