Clive Astall

Clive joined the Board in May 2013 and is a development executive from a mixed commercial/not for profit background who has latterly worked in the social housing sector. His wider business experience comes from a number of voluntary directorships.

He has previously been a member of the Board between 1992 and 2004 and for some of that time was Chair. He brings knowledge of BECHA and some history of the organisation.

Clive comes from a development background in social housing, working for Bovis and Hyde, latterly as the Development Director, and currently works for a large Housing Association in the Development side of the business.

Clive lives in Kent.

Leigh Pattison

Leigh joined the Board in March 2013 and brings a wealth of experience from a career in housing working in Local Authorities, Housing Associations and the private sector.

From 1994 – 2011 Leigh worked for L&Q in their development team and from 2010 was the Assistant Director of Estate Regeneration.

Since 2011 Leigh has continued to broaden her experience and is now a Project Director at Hyde Housing Association.

Leigh is also a qualified teacher and lives in Lewisham.

Richard Smith

Richard joined the board in January 2015. He has had a varied and extensive career in business, working as a Finance Director and a CEO. He has also been a member of his local Parish council since 1990 and is currently the vice Chair.

Daniel Skinner

Daniel is an experienced solicitor, specialising in housing.

He joined the Board in March 2013 and brings experience of the legal aspects of housing to the Board.

Daniel is a solicitor and a Partner at Capsticks. He is ranked by Chambers and Legal as a top social housing lawyer in the South East. He is also Chair of his local Parish Council and chairs their Planning Committee.

In his spare time he is a Rugby referee, cycles and coaches two girls’ football team.

Daniel lives in Kent.

Karen Patten

Karen is an experienced senior manager within the supported housing and care sector and has worked for a variety of small voluntary agencies, large national housing associations and local authorities throughout her career.

Karen joined the Board in March 2013 and brings experience from both general needs housing and care and Support. In her early career she worked as a Housing Officer and as a Homeless Officer.

Until 2005 Head of Support Services for the Moat Housing Group and for the past ten years has worked as a Housing, Care and Support Consultant as an interim director of care and support, commissioner and a range of assignments for housing providers and local authorities.

      Stuart Ilsley

Stuart joined the Board in January 2015. He has had a career providing services to Housing Associations and a long background in customer services and contract management. He is currently Head of Customer Services with Town and Country Housing Group..
