Outreach Service
BECHA employs one part time Outreach Worker, who is able to be flexible around their working hours, to ensure engagement with the client group. The Outreach worker aims to engage with Street Drinkers within the borough of Bexley to identify their support needs and work with them to address the anti social behavior resulting from consuming alcohol in public areas.
The Outreach Worker works in partnership with Neighbourhood Coordinators, the ASB team, local Police, Signpost, London Street Rescue, local Shop Keepers and any other organizations that can help to support the client group and address neighbourhood priorities with regards to public perception of drunk and rowdy behavior.
The Outreach Worker will offer information and assistance to known Street Drinkers in order to reduce harm caused by alcohol misuse, using motivational techniques, harm reduction and the ongoing assessment of need.
